White Mountain Art

Pictured is our most recent acquisition, a rare painting of Mount Kearsage by Marion Howard (1883-1953). Marion Howard is an artist that the gallery has been researching and actively acquiring works by for the past five years. She is one of the leading female artists in New  England during the first half of the 20th century. She studied with New Hampshire artist Edmund Tarbell and then was a resident of New Hampshire for much of her adult life. She produced some of the most stunning works of the Granite State with subjects such as the Isles of Shoals, New Castle Island, and the White Mountains. This painting is a wonderful example of American impressionism. The details of the painting are bellow.

Marion Howard (1883-1953), "Mt. Kearsage, North Conway, NH", circa 1942, oil on panel, 9" x 10", signed lr, M Howard, signed, titled, and dated inverso in the artist hand
