Warren Sheppard, Isles of Shoals

I thought I would illustrate an example of how seeing past a estate condition painting can provide outstanding results. A few weeks ago the gallery purchased a work by Warren Sheppard of the Isles of Shoals. The painting looked horrible with a yellow stain covering the entire painting. I had a good feeling that the discoloration was a result of years of exposure to cigarette smoke. A very simple and quick cleaning revealed the true colors and beauty of the painting. Bellow are the before and after pictures.
